Student Media and Laramie Living host Housing Fair

Laramie Living and Student Media hosted the annual Housing and Resource Fair on Thursday, March 23. Vendors from the university and Laramie community came to educate students about what they have to offer.

From 10am to 2pm in the Union Ballroom, students were encouraged to participate in raffles, learn about housing and community organizations. Free pizza was available along with the chance to win a pair of Airpods and other prizes.

Josie Calderon represented one of the groups present, the Pregnancy Resource Clinic.

“We provide free services to men and women in our community, for anyone who maybe finds themselves in a planned or unplanned pregnancy,” she said.

“Maybe they have had a miscarriage. Maybe they have had an abortion. Maybe they need parenting or labor and delivery classes. We actually do quite a bit.”

Among some of the vendors in attendance were the Laramie Fire Department, Laramie Police Department, Simpson Chiropractic and Wellness, Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area, and the UniWyo Federal Credit Union.

“Something that [we offer] that is good for this population is therapeutic botox for migraines,” said Christy Wald, with the Laramie Physicians Women and Wellness Clinic, “especially with using the computer all the time and reading and writing books.”

The Laramie Physicians Women and Wellness clinic offers a surplus of services such as a medspa, fillers, laser hair removal, birth control, and prenatal care.

“I think it went really well,” said Robin Lyons, a student media faculty member, “All of the students who participated seemed really happy and all of the vendors seemed really happy. From what I understand, we had a great turnout.”
