Sophomore Jessica Parizher fell in the semifinals to Elizaveta Luzina of Washington State in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2, but came back with a 5-7, 6-4, 10-3 win to get third place over Daphne Friedrichs of Eastern Michigan.

Silviya Zhelyazkova beat Jenny Blackburne of South Dakota State, 7-5, 6-3, and Mazy Watrous of Colorado, 6-4, 6-3, to complete her weekend.

“We had some high notes and low notes on the day,” head coach Dean Clower said, in the press release. “I was happy we put ourselves in a position to win several matches in which we came through on some and fell short on others. Alma and Christa really took strides forward this weekend and congratulations to Alma for winning her draw.”

The women’s tennis team still has one last tournament to compete in. The last tournament is the ITA Mountain Regional Tournament in Las Vegas, Nev. from Wednesday the 10th to Sunday the 14th.
