Seven Reasons to Start Running

With Thanksgiving sneaking up on us, this means three things: lots of snacking, big meals and the never failing desserts. This may all boil down to some unwanted weight gain. Nobody wants that.

That would be why I am going to tell you seven motivating things to get your cardio on!

Number one: Go get yourself some cute new running shoes! Yes, I know Christmas is coming up, but what better way to motivate yourself than a brand new pair of kicks? That’s right, nothing. I just got a brand new pair of Nike frees and I use them for motivation to do my cardio, because they look just so dang cute on me.

Number two: Cardio exercise boosts your mood. I don’t care who you are. If you tell me that the holidays don’t make you crazy stressed, you are lying. A 20 minute run is the only thing standing between you and a good mood.

Number three: The weight loss. By doing cardio and combining it with a healthy diet, you can lose that access weight and keep it off. All it takes is 30 minutes at the gym and you are good for the day. Don’t forget your strength training.

Number four: Your skin. Don’t even get me started in how clear your complexion will start to look after working out. Anything that promotes healthy circulation is great for your skin cells. Just remember to wash your face right after your workout to prevent the sweat staying in your pores.

Number five: You get to eat more. Think about it, if you go for a run Thanksgiving morning and you burn 300 calories then you can have a small proportion of that yummy pumpkin pie your grandmother makes. Just remember you only burned 300 calories so when your grandma asks if you want seconds tell her no, but make sure you let her know how great it was.

Number six: Electronics. During the holidays it is sometimes hard to find time to watch your favorite show, or listen to Taylor Swift’s new song, or check your twitter. Good news, treadmills have little stands for you to put your devices on therefore it makes watching your favorite show listening to your favorite song and sending a tweet to your friends easy.

Number seven: It makes you a bad ass. Okay maybe that’s subjective. But really when you start doing cardio on a regular basis, you feel it on the inside out. Your body just feels better when you exercise. Your mind feels it as well.

Warning: Cardiovascular exercise may have side effects such as a stronger, healthier, better, more powerful body.

There is no better time to start your cardio journey than right now. No more tomorrows, no more later. RIGHT NOW!

Now go to the store, get some workout clothes and take your butt to the gym. I am proposing a challenge for you.

It takes 4 weeks for you to notice a change, 8 weeks for your friends and family and 12 weeks for the rest of the world. So give it 12 weeks and then reevaluate if you want to keep going or not.

No more excuses get to the gym and get your cardio on!
