Wyoming triumphs in best college logo

Wyoming was named “the best college logo” for 2020 by College Sports Logos on twitter and with a rating of 6.2/10 on SportsLogo.com. Wyoming beat out some of the top teams in the nation, including Boise State, San Jose State University and Brigham Young University to name a few.

“Wyoming is our champion,” College Sports Logos said on Twitter on April 6. “To them, it’s not just a logo but a way of life.”

Wyoming beat out South Dakota State for the championship. Wyoming won the competition by more than 52%.

The Wyoming Bucking Horse and Rider, a symbol of the cowboy way and also the state of Wyoming, was trademarked in 1936, but it could be argued for 1918. The University of Wyoming adopted the logo 1921.

“Thank you to the fans, its great to be recognized across the nation just by our logo,” said Tim Harkins Assoc. AD, Media Relations. “It’s not just the UW logo, its a logo for the whole state, it’s on the license plates, and you don’t see that in other states.”
