Wyoming Native to headline Union Fest

Union Fest, an annual celebratory event on campus, will kick off on Friday, May 5, to end another Cowboy school year. There will be many activities, with the main attraction being Wyoming Native, Ian Munsick, live in concert.

The event will start at 11 a.m. in Prexy’s Pasture. There will be minute-to-win-it games with prizes, inflatable contests, and carnival foods such as ice cream, hot dogs and popcorn. Union Fest will be an all-day event with burgers being served at 4:30 p.m. before the live performances start at 5 p.m.

“The day is an opportunity to have some fun, enjoy each other’s company and make some memories together. The Wyoming Union crew has been working for months to prepare this event and has an amazing day planned,” said Gabriel Lattimer, Public Relations Coordinator for CSIL.

“I think we are all excited for everyone to attend with their fellow Pokes right before the summer begins.”

Headliner Ian Munsick is a rising country artist from Sheridan, Wyoming with an acoustic, old style tenor tone. His songs reflect Wyoming values and lifestyles along with descriptions of the state’s natural landscapes. Munsick started his singing debut in 2017 with his hit song “Horses are Faster”.

Following Munsick is fellow country artist Ashland Craft. Craft will be “opening the doors” for the live performances at Simpson Plaza at 5 p.m. In 2021, Craft was voted into CMT’s “Next Women of Country.”

“It was really enjoyable, really fun. I like the whole community together. Saw people of all grades out there and even professors and ones that aren’t associated with the university,” said UW student Weston Zimmerman about his experience of Union Fest 2022.

“It’s kind of a great way to wind down the semester.”
