The Wyoming women’s tennis squad continued its winning streak with a 4-3 victory over CSU Northridge Matadors. The Cowgirls are now 8-5 overall on the season.

“We had a good week in California and picked up some much needed experience and wins on the road,” head coach Dean Clower said to a Wyoming Athletics press release.

The Cowgirls started early in Northridge taking a 1-0 lead by winning two out of three doubles matches. Playing third doubles Dorottya Jonas and Silviya Zhelyazkova defeated Corinne Schnyder and Mari Taslagyan, 6-0. The Matadors tied things up as Mickey Hsu and Kristen Poei pulled off a 6-2 win over Alma Espinosa and Christa Gecheva. It came down to Jessica Parizher and Magdalena Stencel beating Vivian Lin and Criss Rodriguez, 6-3.

“I felt like we really grew up as a team on and off the court. We are playing much better doubles and learning how to win as a team,” Clower said to a Wyoming Athletics press release.
