The University of Wyoming athletics department announced this week that they are looking for a corporate partner to help support Wyoming’s football program. Whoever is awarded the unique opportunity to share their brand with Wyoming Football will earn the right to display their logo on Jonah Field within War Memorial Stadium, where Wyoming Football plays their home games every fall.
“The partnership will be an excellent opportunity to align with the iconic Steamboat logo inside the best home atmosphere in the Mountain West Conference and the nation,” UW Director of Athletics Tom Burman said in a recent press release.
“It is a great opportunity for a corporate partner to be visible to our great fans inside War Memorial Stadium or a national audience with the Mountain West Conference’s television partners,” Burman also added in the press release.
This decision came to light after a ruling was passed in the summer of 2024 allowing college athletics departments to permit corporations to advertise themselves by displaying their logos on college football fields. The decision was effective immediately for the 2024 college football season, despite Wyoming Football not taking advantage of the ruling in the 2024 season.
While it has not been announced what corporations Wyoming Football will be partnering with for the upcoming 2025 college football season, Wyoming Football is working alongside Wyoming Sports Properties–the exclusive multimedia rights holder for Wyoming athletics–to find a suitable partner for the 2025 season.
