The Wyoming track and field team finished up an impressive weekend with its performance at the Colorado University Invite hosted in Boulder, Colorado.

Several Cowboys put up wins and the team continued its assault on the UW record boards.

Jordan Charles came out with a win in the 110-hurdles and came in second in the 100-meters.

Charles’ time of 13.83 in the 110-hurdles was also good enough to put him at third in UW history, first in the Mountain West conference and 19th in the nation. His 100-meter time was also the fifth fastest on the UW record books.

“We had really nice weather in Utah and Colorado and our kids took advantage of it. I was impressed with how they performed given we haven’t been able to get outside for a lot of quality practices this spring,” head coach Bryan Berryhill said according to a UW press release.

Senior Madison Seaman secured a win for the Cowgirls in the discus event with a throw of 152-6.

Kyle Alexander competed in the triple jump, recording a 44-3 ½, which was good enough to land him in second place.

Bryce Ailshie ran a 49.11 in the 400-meter race, putting him in third place. Wyatt Mirich also came in third in the high jump by recording a jump slightly under 6-feet-5-inches. Jonah Henry came in fourth in the 1,500-meters with a personal best time of 3:54.

The University of Wyoming had an exceptional showing in the throwing events and had several athletes place in the top-five.

Garrett Lynch enjoyed an outstanding day in the throwing events, placing in the top- five in both the shot put and the discus. Lynch placed third in the shot put with a throw of 52-0, and was able to throw the discus for 156-0, which landed him in fourth place.

Tyler Anderson was the runner up in the hammer throw with a throw of 194-11 and Martin Fitzwater came in fourth in the shot put throwing a personal best of 49-3.

The UW track and field team will be competing at the Jack Christiansen Invite next weekend, which will be hosted by Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
