UW Rodeo has third rodeo of season in Colorado

Going into the Short Go round on Sunday, UW had thirteen Cowboys and Cowgirls at the Lamar Community College rodeo in Lamar, Colorado.

For the men’s team, you had Drake Amundson, Colton Farrow, Bronson Werhli, and Brice Patterson represent UW in bareback riding. Patterson was going in leading the round with a first-round score of 76 points with Amundson following in second.

In steer wrestling, Jacob Wang and Kaden Berger were sitting sixth and seventh before their chance to place higher in the finals round. 

Berger was joined by Stratton Kohr in the tie down roping. Berger was sitting fourth and Kohr fifth. 

Being the one Cowboy going into the short go round in the bull riding was Dylan Grant. 

Team roping had two individuals who were not on the same team make the top ten. Rio Nutter, a header with a Laramie County Community College heeling partner, was sitting second before Sunday’s round and Troupe Coors, a heeler, was sitting fourth with his Casper College heading partner.

Saddle Bronc riding had no rides from a UW athlete.  

On the women’s team, breakaway roping had the most UW athletes in the top twelve in all the events. There were five Cowgirls; Raegan Delancey, Hailey Hardeman, Hadley Furnival, Kelsey Lensegrav and Kodey Hoss. Delancey was going in eleventh, Hardeman in seventh, Furnival in fifth, Lensegrav in fourth and Hoss in second.  

In goat tying, Kenna McNeill is sitting eighth, Kelsey Lensegrav sixth, and Kodey Hoss in fourth. 

Barrel racing had three Cowgirls, Halle Hladky, Emme Norsworthy, and Kodey Hoss. Hladky is sitting seventh, Norsworthy sixth and Hoss is sitting third before going into the finals round.

The Short go round at Lamar, Colorado starts Sunday and UW is being well represented in the Central Rocky Mountain Region.
