A look ahead to the Barstool Sports Arizona Bowl

The Wyoming Cowboys season will come to a close this Friday when the team plays the Ohio Bobcats at the Barstool Arizona Bowl. It’s time to look back on some impactful moments that lead to the achievement that is playing in a bowl game, and predict the winner of the game.

Towards the end of the season, the Pokes have seen numerous departures from key players including running back Titus Swen and others.

The Pokes have had extremely impressive running back plays from Swen, and his three backups will all be inactive going into the Arizona Bowl vs Ohio. A few freshmen will get a chance to prove themselves and become a playmaker for the Cowboys.

Coach Bohl is still unsure of who the starting running back may be, and could very well be a game time decision.

Cornerback Cam Stone is one of the players that opted to find a new home for next season, and finds himself back in the Mountain West in Hawaii. He was a cornerstone of the Cowboy defense, and his absence will surely be noticed in Arizona.

Although Wyoming has made it to a bowl game for the second year in a row, the season has been quite mediocre.

Antics have been present all year between Coach Bohl and his players, and it’s been shown by the amount of key players entering the transfer portal. The Pokes record ended as 7-5, as they came up short with an embarrassing loss to Boise State and Fresno State consecutively.

Quarterback Andrew Peasley will be back playing in Arizona, along with a team who is looking to win two bowl games in a row.

Western Thunder Marching band arrives in Tucson, Arizona, to demonstrate what a real marching band looks like as they battle the University of Ohio Marching Band tomorrow. The Battle of the Bands takes place Friday, December 10th at 12 pm, right before the Barstool Bowl is set to begin.

The Pokes will get a chance on Friday to play an Ohio Bobcats team who has a vastly different playstyle.

The Cowboys typically like to go run heavy on offense, though the lack of Swen and all other backups will be an important factor, and the Bobcats love to hang on their QB Kurtis Rourke to air it out.

It will be interesting to see how these two teams stack up to each other, as according to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Bobcats are betting favorites by 1.5 points.

I have a pretty good feeling that the Pokes will get it done against Ohio, and take home the Arizona Bowl championship.

Although they’ve endured some discouraging losses to close out their season, there’s been time to regain confidence and motivation to get one final win.

Wyoming vs Ohio will be streamed on barstool.tv, and starts at 2:30 MST on Friday, Dec. 30.
